John-Murphy

Mr. John Murphy of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, he was 81 years old.

John retired after 30 years as Officer John Murphy of the Nashville Metro Police Department. During and after his employment with the MNPD, he also worked for Cullum and Maxey Camping Center, Nashville Easy Living and a lot of private customers. They all got their camper trailers (motor homes), horse trailers and 5th wheelers safely delivered by John to wherever they needed with his own trucks that he purchased from Two Rivers Ford.

John’s passion in life, when he “actually wasn’t working” and/or helping a lot of people, was NASCAR, Bill Elliott and for the last part of his life, Bill’s son, Chase Elliott. We shared that passion for 25 years, all the while he was looking out for his own neighborhood, friends and associates; who have been and are continuing to help us. John has taught me strength, compassion and tolerance. From all of us, Thank you John.

John was preceded in death by his son, Donald L. Murphy.

Survived by his wife, Lynda Murphy; and brother, Tommy Murphy.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. (visitation 1-3 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road by Andrew Ivey. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana.
