John Clayton Bodily, age 74 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Clayton Bodily, a beloved husband, father, papa, and brother. He was a devoted husband to Debra for 48 years; incredible father to Clay (wife Miriam) and Leah (husband Carson Dickey); best Papa to Oscar, Isabela, Sofia Marie, Josiah, Cali, Carri, and Colton; a loving son to Bertha Charlene Corley; and a great brother to Carla Alsup (husband Doug), Carma Williams (husband Stephen), and Celina Kramer (husband R.B.). He touched the lives of everyone he met. He was so full of life. His presence and amazing laugh will be deeply missed in all of our lives.
John was also a faithful follower of Christ, and this faith guided his life and inspired those around him. His love for Christ was evident in all his actions and the way he cared for others.
His legacy of love and dedication for his family and others as well as his faith will continue to inspire us all. He leaves behind a family who will forever hold him in their hearts.
John, you will forever be remembered and missed.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Stephen Williams on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. (visitation 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road.
