JoAnne Turner, age 82 of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026.
She was preceded in death by parents Art and Jean Baskin; brother, Don Baskin; sons, Scotty Turner and Danny Turner; grandsons, John David Turner II and Arthur John Turner.
JoAnne is survived by loving husband of 62 years, Donald Turner; son, Johnny (Jenni) Turner; daughters, Lisa (Hector) Fernandez and Laurie (Charles) Holland; daughter-in-law, Leah Turner; grandchildren, Josh Shreeve, Kayla (Robert) Long, Trent (Christy) Shreeve, Caleb (Liz) Turner, Makenzie Turner, David (Sara) Turner, Brad (Ally) Turner, Abby Turner, Austin (Hope) Holland, Jenna Holland, Macey (Dimitri) Scameheorn; great-grandchildren, Joseph Shreeve, Gracie Shreeve, Tripp Long, Ezra Long, Riley Shreeve, Sophie Shreeve, Henry Shreeve, Brody Holland; brother, Terry (Donna) Baskin; sister; Sherry (Jerry) Lomax; numerous loved nieces and nephews.
JoAnne was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, where she served as the WEE School Director for 34 years. During her time as Director, she poured her heart into loving and praying over not only generations of children but their parents as well. Her unwavering love and support for her teachers created more than a workplace; it formed a family.
JoAnne lived her life caring for others and always pointing those around her to Christ. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family, where she would make sure to tell them, “We made a memory”.
JoAnne leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, and a selfless love for serving others. Her influence will continue for generations through the many lives she touched and the faith she lived out so faithfully.
Visitation with family will be held Thursday, January 29th, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 – 11:30 am. https://www.andersonandgarrett.com
A celebration of life will be Friday, January 30th at 12:00 pm. Visitation and celebration of life will be held at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, 3475 Lebanon Rd., Hermitage, TN.
Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
