Jo Ann Garrett, age 87, of Madison, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Garrett was born November 10, 1936 in Cedar Hill, TN to the late James Cornelius Adams and Nettie Ruth Holman Adams.
She graduated from Nashville Business College and completed post graduate course work at Vanderbilt University. She was an Administrative Assistant for the TN State Supreme Court and was a CPS with the TN State Supreme Court for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her son, James Edward Garrett.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John Ed Garrett; daughter, Carol Ann Garrett Walker Blackmon; 6 grandchildren, Beau Johnson Garrett, Heidi Beth (Pat) Burke, Devin James Garrett, Ginger Ann Walker (Cameron) Jennings, Natalie Grace Walker, and William Garrett Blackmon; 1 great-grandchild, Roman Spencer Jennings; and sisters, Betty Jane Fiser, and Nancy Ruth Arnold.
Mrs. Garrett’s wishes were to be cremated, and the family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
