Celebrating the Gentle Spirit of Jerry M. Morton III

March 14th, 1937 – June 4th, 2025

With a humble heart and a compassionate soul, Jerry M. Morton III touched the lives of those around him in the most heartfelt ways. Born in Nashville on March 14th, 1937, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the embrace of nature and the melodies he so effortlessly played on the piano by ear.

His kindness shone brightly during quiet fishing trips and camping adventures shared with his dear children, Jerry IV, Marsha, Judy and Jeannie. His girls, Judy and Jeannie are going to miss the days of him putting the bait on their fishing hooks for them as they squealed with excitement. Under starlit skies, he fostered moments of connection, weaving memories that would warm their hearts for years to come. He tinkered with making new art projects and fixing anything you put in front of him.

He was a gentleman and man who walked with the Lord every day after joining the Central Church of Christ community. Jerry’s determined spirit led him to embrace new adventures, whether gliding and jumping across the water on skis or exploring the great outdoors. His love for life was both inspiring and endearing.

Along with his parents Jerry M Morton JR II and Hazel L Wilson, whose own kind spirits guided his path; he was preceded in death by son, Jerry Morton IV and daughter, Marsha Conyer; siblings, Kenneth Morton, Paul Morton, Steven Morton, Frances Poulin, Peggy Anderson, and Carolyn; grandchild, Jody Conyer. He is survived by daughters, Judy (John) Arrington and Jeannie (Jimmy) Wade; siblings, Ronnie Morton and Linda Capley. His grandchildren, Mandy Payne, Courtney Krumsiek, Logan Gentry, Audrey Mayberry and James T. Tripp; eleven great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren will miss him dearly.

Though he is no longer with us, Jerry’s legacy of kindness and love remains ever present. His gentle compassion and kind gestures have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. May the memories of his loving spirit continue to inspire us all.
