Jean Kirby Condrey departed this life May 13, flying into the arms of her loving Savior, under the watchful eye of her husband Richard, who preceded her by six months. Now together forever!
Jean was born in Columbia Tennessee, grew up in Nashville as a product of Hillsboro High School and Vanderbilt University. She and Richard met and married in Nashville, and their life together took them from California to Birmingham Alabama, and in recent years, back to Nashville. Together they had a son and a daughter and were blessed with 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Jean had a special ability to bring beauty and sparkle to any room, occasion, relationship, or event. She was beautiful and well put together. Whether it was her gorgeous and tasteful jewelry, a beautiful flower arrangement, or the perfect gift, she excelled at demonstrating hospitality as an art form.
Additionally, to her grandchildren, she was Mary Poppins, magically flying in from Birmingham to care for them while their parents were away. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Mimi, and Mother-in-law.
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter Martha Louise Condrey Douglas and her husband Richard Merle Condrey.
She is survived by her son Richard Michael Condrey (Cecelia Harrison), son-in-law James Ogburn Douglas, sister Anita Kirby Cochran, grandchildren Walton, Dee, Davey, Grace, Camille, great grands Louise, Hill, and Ro, 4 nieces and a nephew.
Following Jean’s wishes the family will conduct a private burial with a Celebration of Jean’s life to be announced at a later date. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
