Jane P. Gaston of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on May 22, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Jane graduated from Miami Springs High School in 1967 and from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English in 1971. After graduating from college, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee to work as a visiting hostess at Baptist Memorial Hospital. It was through a mutual friend that Jane was set up on a blind date with Bob Gaston, and the two of them never looked back. They were married one year later and remained married for 51 years until her passing.
Jane is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert B. Gaston, Jr.; her two sons, Hugh R. Gaston (Robinette) and Jon P. Gaston (Amanda); her five grandchildren Beau and Grey (Hugh and Robinette) and Elle, Will, and Vivian (Jon and Amanda); her two sisters, Ann Retzer and Betty Lyn Parker; one nephew, Matt Retzer; and other cousins and extended family members.
As a child and young adult, Jane was an avid pianist and actively involved in the church communities of which her father was the pastor. After becoming a mother, she dedicated her life to raising her children and being a homemaker.
The family would like to thank caregivers and staff at Somerfield at the Heritage for the care and compassion that they showed our loved one in her final days.
