Helen Norris was born in Nashville Tennessee to the union of the late Marcus Reigns and Mary Alberta Norris on November 13, 1961, she made her transition on June 17, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by three siblings.
Entering adulthood she had joined the United States Army and served for four years while traveling the world to be a strong independent woman. After being honorably discharged from the Army she relocated to Pontiac Michigan where she became a nursing aide and began to install in herself a life-long journey of helping others.
She leaves us to cherish her memories: Elisha M. Norris, Justin R. Norris, Justin Norris Jr. And her life long partner Pedro Juan Mendez.
Helen was full of life and she loved to laugh, playfully joking around and even through dark and hard times she still managed to keep a smile on her face. She loved listening to music with Michael Jackson, Prince, Elton John and Lionel Richie. And what she loved most of all was praying, singing and worshipping the Lord above.
Helen Norris will lie in repose on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Cobb’s Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
Celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Cobb’s Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Family hour will begin at 10:30am and service will start at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan, immediately after the service.
