Harry-Joseph-Frahn-III

Harry Joseph Frahn III passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024, at home in Nashville.

Born in 1946 in Nashville. Dear brother of Cilla (Jim) Gaulden, who survives him. Beloved father of Greg Frahn and Buzz (Anne) Frahn. Adored “Poppa” of Harry, Celia, and Sonia and many others who considered him like a grandfather. Dear cousin and true friend to many, loved by all who knew him.

An Eagle Scout and graduate of Glencliff High School, Harry was one of the first graduates of the new Architecture School at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, becoming a lifelong Vols fan. At the center of Harry’s life was a daily spiritual practice that focused on living one day at a time. From that, he drew a calm, centered kindness and a genuineness that he brought to every interaction, whether you were a close relation, a co-worker or the grocery store cashier.

Harry loved his family beach vacations in North Carolina, carrying on an annual tradition that began in 1997 continuing through 2023. Memories of building sand castles with his grandchildren will endure. He was the one we all turned to for advice and he had the wisdom to help us tease out the answers for ourselves.

Preceded in death by his parents Harry J. Jr. and Zehra Frahn (nee Beechboard).

Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 5-7 pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln., Nashville, Tennessee 37204. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4 at 11:30 am, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, followed by a 12:30-2:30 reception there. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
