Glenn Howard Burks, age 87, of Nashville, TN, passed to his eternal reward on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born June 02, 1938, in Warren County, TN, and was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Shirley Johnson Burks, daughter Vanessa Ingram, and mother Lizzie Burks. Rev. Burks served as pastor of the following churches; McMinnville First Assembly of God, Nashville Bordeau & Nashville Waverly Assembly of God, Nashville Calvary Assembly of God, and Smithville First Assembly of God, in addition was Tennessee District Assembly of God District Secretary, and served with Tennessee District Assembly of God Minister Care.
Survivors include daughter Renee Pinkerton, granddaughter Brook Pinkerton, grandsons Blane (Emily) Pinkerton and Reagan (Kristy) Ingram, great-grandchildren R J Pinkerton, Deacon Ingram, Raven Ingram, and Jaina Ingram, sister Hazel Barr, nephew Mark (Kim) Barr, special cousins Ray (Christy) Talbert, Olene Jordan, Mildred McNatt, Tyron Argo, other family members, and special friends Ron and Melanie Pinkerton.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at McMinnville First Assembly of God Church, 112 Club Drive, McMinnville, TN 37110. Terry Bailey will officiate. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The Burks family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home. On Thursday family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at McMinnville First Assembly of God.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Program.
