Mr. George Alexander Robertson, son of the late Lemuel and Robbie Bell Robertson. He was born in Nashville, Davidson County on December 12, 1939. He grew up and received his education in the Davidson County school system.
He married the love of his life, Louise Gray Robertson. To this union, four children were born. George’s hands were a gift from God. He did many jobs for family and friends. They included: working in Grocery stores, Mechanic, Painting, Laying Concrete and Grilling. His son, Leon, took over the grilling; he became his pitman for many decades. He loved Drag Racing in Tennessee.
George was employed by the Board of Parks and Recreation at Centennial Park for 42 years. He would plant flowers, clean park centers and basketball courts. He also cleaned Two Rivers Mansion for weddings. Outside of his employment, his favorite thing was entertaining his family and friends by grilling and playing old and some new school R & B music. He loved visiting his children, grandchildren, and great granddaughters, Amaya and Aleah.
He survived by his devoted son, Leon Robertson and devoted daughter, Barbara Robertson; devoted relatives: Latoya Powell (Herman), Andre Powell, Angelia Francis (Wally), Bradley (Miranda) Robertson, Grace Liverman, Lil Leon Robertson, Tacveonne Robertson, George, Jr., Timothy Robertson; devoted friends: Howard (Gwen) Harris, James Keesee, Thomas Goodloe and Helen Strictland. He is survived by siblings: Wallace Robertson, Bradley Robertson (Miranda), Geraldine Thompson, Marie (Charles) Hall and Grace Liverman; Sisters in Law: Ida May Gray and Joyce Ann Gray; brothers in law: Leroy Gray and Stanford T. Gray, Jr. Proceeded in death: Buford Robertson, Malloy Robertson, Osean Robertson, Lewis (June) Robertson, Mary (Rudolf) Coleman and Ruby (J.B.) Otey. Host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends of Music City Raceway and Bowling Green Raceway.
