Genevieve Lorraine “Gee-Gee” Sparrow (Brown), aged 91, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on September 6, 1933, in Gardiner, Maine, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the world and its people.

Genevieve was the daughter of Evelyn Lessard and Lewis Brown. She grew up in Gardiner alongside her siblings Kenneth, Lewis, and Frederick Brown. Her early years in Maine laid the foundation for her strong work ethic and warm personality.

In her youth, Genevieve ventured far from her Maine roots to begin a new chapter in Hawaii. There, she married and raised her family amidst the beauty of the islands. She embraced Hawaiian culture wholeheartedly and became an active volunteer in schools, churches, and community organizations. Her time in Hawaii was marked by her deep-rooted connections within her community.

Later in life, Genevieve returned to Gardiner, Maine, where she continued to make an impact. She worked as the deli manager at Goggins IGA until her retirement. She brought joy to those around her both at work and beyond. Her son, Ronald and family of Nashville, cared for her in her later years.

Genevieve had a passion for golf and cherished spending time with her relatives. Known for her sense of humor, she had a unique ability to bring lightness and joy into any situation. Her travels around the globe enriched her appreciation of different cultures.

She is survived by her brother Kenneth Brown (Sunday); daughters Lani Goodrum (Louis) and Jani Fisk (Larry); sons Ronald Sparrow (Ann) and Thomas Sparrow (Kelly); 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives who will forever hold fond memories of their time with Gee-Gee.

Genevieve was predeceased by her parents Evelyn Brown Beckwith (Lessard) and Lewis Brown as well as her brothers Lewis Brown and Frederick Brown.

Genevieve’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and an enduring love for family and community. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
