Frank Dean Waggoner, 87, of Nashville, Tennessee, departed this life on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

He was born on September 4, 1934 in Union Hill, Tennessee. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mary Elizabeth, wife of 61 years, Barbara, and siblings, Mary Sue, Dee Dee, Lewis, Alma, Lee, and Gilbert.

Frank attended the Watkins Institute in Nashville and began his career as a Commercial Artist at the Nashville Banner newspaper.

He served proudly in the United States Army and resumed his art career after discharge, serving for 26 years as the Art Director at Bill Hudson Advertising. Frank was an incredibly talented artist who designed artwork for advertisements and album covers for numerous Country Music artists. One of his most notable accomplishments was designing and fabricating the original Country Music Association award statue.

Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many, and will be truly missed.

Frank is survived by his children, David (Lorrie) Waggoner and Vickie (Grant) Clasby; grandchildren, Daniel (Kaelynn) Waggoner, Joshua Waggoner, Chase Waggoner, Molly Henderson, Sean Henderson, and Ryan (Alexa) Henderson; great-grandchildren, Ruby Waggoner and Walker Waggoner.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, November 11th at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday evening and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
