Floyd Marshall Crook, 93, passed away on May 2, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born on January 29, 1930, in Nashville to his parents, Herman and Helen Crook.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Crook.
Floyd is survived by his children: Patricia Matheny (Daniel), Linda Sparkman (Harold), Mary Jane LaGro (Jeff), Marsha Jankiewicz (Robert), and Floyd Crook (Rhonda). He is also survived by his brother, William Crook (Barbara). He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Floyd was a self-employed painting contractor who enjoyed success in residential and commercial work. His expertise in grocery store remodeling was unparalleled as he could brush apply oil-based enamel that looked like sprayed-on perfection.
Floyd was a devoted and loving husband and father. He enjoyed reading the scriptures daily and found joy in encouraging others. His extended family was his pride and joy. He played the harmonica, and often played hymns at his church, Antioch First Baptist.
A service for Floyd was held Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, located at 5852 Nolensville Road in Nashville, TN. Visitation is from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
