Evangelene Barton Brown Davis was born December 13, 1934, in Nashville, Tennessee, and passed away on October 22, 2025, at Life Care Center of Old Hickory, Tennessee.
She was born to Hazel (Malone) Brown and Gilbert Brown and she was the granddaughter of Effie Hatch Brown. She was sister to the late Effie Lee (Brown) Coger and the late Gilbert Brown, Jr., and sister in-law to Martha Brown.
She was married to the late Retired Presiding Elder Samuel M. Davis on August 28, 1953. They were married 71 years and the parents of James (Rhonda) Counts, Charles (Vicki) Counts, Samuel (Stella) Davis, Angela Davis, and George Davis.
She leaves behind grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and devoted friends.
