Emma Jauna Ramey Woods was born on April 3, 1936 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the union of Underwood and Bessie Ramey. She entered peacefully into rest on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at Advanced Healthcare in Nashville, Tennessee.
Emma was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Public School Systems. She also attended Tennessee State University. Emma accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. John AME Church.
She married James Woods on September 2nd, 1978; they have enjoyed 44 years of marital bliss. Emma was employed with JC Penny Clothing Store for 20 years as a Stock Room Supervisor. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be truly missed!!!
Emma was preceded in death by her son, Michael Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memories husband, James Woods, sons, Robert (Regina) Smith, Kenneth (Lawanda) Smith, stepdaughter, Dr. LaDonna Williams, stepson, Carl N. Woods, sister, Katherine (Forrest) Moore, grandchildren, Lisa Sneed, Christopher Smith, Christy Kirk, Saung Moore, Diona & children, great-grandchildren, Athena Walker, Anthony Walker, Armonte’ Walker, Alonzo Walker, Jaren Tatum, James Tatum III, Gavin Smith, Jacobe Kirk, Jarrad Kirk, Landon Kirk, Molly Stokes, great great grandchildren, Katana Frazier, Malcolm Frazier Jr., Macayla Frazier, Kimora Frazier, niece, Audrain (Michael) Smith, nephew, Forrest Moore Jr., special friends, Mrs. Shirley and Theresa Cleggett, and a host of other relatives and friends.
