Elizabeth Smith Bass of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on July 26, 2021.
She was born on May 1, 1937 in Nashville to the late Marion G. Smith and Nancy Manier Smith. She graduated from Parmer School, Harpeth Hall, and Vanderbilt University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where she and her husband James O. Bass Jr. were married in 1959. She was also a member of the Junior League of Nashville, Garden Club of America, and First Wednesday. Her warm and compassionate nature made her loved by one and all.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law James O. Bass and Susanne Warner Bass, sister Sarah Nickey of Memphis, and brother Marion G. Smith Jr. of Newport Beach, CA. She is survived by her husband, children Nancy Bass Cox (Robert) of Atlanta, Susanne Bass Young (David) and James O. Bass III (Candy), seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in Courtney Hall at First Presbyterian Church from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, August 2, preceded by a family committal service.
