OBITUARY: Edmund “Allen” Currey Jr

Edmund “Allen” Currey, Jr., was born on October 7, 1945, and passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 80 following a brief illness.

He is survived by his brother, Jerry Currey (Dorothy); many nieces, nephews, and cousins; his beloved cat, Dot; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Wilma and Thomas Robinson; his father, Edmund Allen Currey, Sr.; his longtime partner, Ginger “Hugh” Waddle; his sister, Jean Currey Parrott; his brother, John “Mac” Curry; and his beloved cat, Angel.

Allen was an active and dedicated member of Holy Trinity Community Church (The Circle Community Church) and volunteered faithfully throughout his life.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Allen’s special friends Stefen, Steven, and Don for their help and care in making the arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home-Hickory Chapel. The funeral service will follow from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Gavin Warren will officiate the service, and music will be provided by Pastor Michael Edwards.
