OBITUARY: Dorothy ‘Dot’ Mai Binkley

Dorothy “Dot” Mai Binkley peacefully entered into eternal life on March 4, 2024 with her family at her bedside.

Dot was born in Nashville on August 6, 1932 to the late Ella and Virgil Pentecost.

On July 14, 1955 she married the late Charles E. Binkley by whose side she remained until his death in 2018. She is now with him again, having mourned him every day since his death. She was the ever protective and loving mother of two children, Charles E. Binkley, II, MD and Tiffany D. Knight. Dot’s love for her children extended unconditionally to her sons-in-law Charles’s husband David and Tiffany’s husband Steve, as well as her grandchildren Peyton and Parker (Tiffany and Steve).

Dot was a notably successful business woman, owning one of the first female held real estate firms in Nashville. Known for her wit, candor, and flair, Dot’s death will be mourned by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.

In anticipation of the Resurrection, Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Jean Baptiste at 11 AM on Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. Joseph Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Pike, Nashville. Pallbearers will be: Peyton Knight, Parker Knight, Darrren Futch, Chris Florek, Joe Ansari, and Malcolm Hogan.
