Doris Lee (Young) Craig, age 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at her home.
She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 28, 1933, to the late Harvey F. Young and Mattie Lee (Gibbs) Young.
She was a member of Sylvan Park Free Will Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. She retired from Ace Hardware in retail sales.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mattie Lee Young; husband, Joseph Craig; father of her children, Herbert B. Pelton, Jr.; brothers, Charles Young and Ronnie Duke; sisters, Juanita Barr and Dorothy Jean Morris; great-grandson, Collin Hamilton; and great-granddaughter, Adelaide Tenpenny.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Bryan Pelton (Donna); step-son, Bill Craig; daughters, Sheila Wayman (Tim) and Tammy Fuqua (Phil); step-daughter, Sallyce Mitchell (Jimmy); 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Frank Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Young’s Family Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2024, from 3 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11 am until the service hour of 2 pm. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and great grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
