Donald Curtis “Don” Reeves, 73, of Nashville passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the chapel of Tusculum Church of Christ at 12:00 noon. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
Don was born March 23, 1953, at Vanderbilt Hospital. He was the youngest of six children born to the late Cecil and Rosa Gill Reeves. On September 3, 1982, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Anderson Reeves. Don graduated from Antioch High School in 1971 and later graduated from MTSU. He served in the Air Force from 1976-1980. Don worked as a Medical Technologist at Baptist Hospital Nashville for ten years and retired from Vanderbilt Hospital in 2020, after thirty plus years of service.
Don loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener, especially passionate about his homegrown tomatoes. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family.
Don was a member of Tusculum Church of Christ and loved sharing Jesus with everyone he met. He served on many short-term medical mission trips abroad as well as visits to encourage missionaries in the United States. He was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by two daughters, Ashley (Graham) Gordon and Bethany (Miles) Oakley; grandchildren, Percy and Harrison Gordon; brothers, Harold (Pam) Reeves and Mike Reeves; sister, Carol Stone, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Reeves and a sister, Marion Williams.
Don was laid to rest at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
