Don Lewis Cox, 65, beloved husband, father, “Pops” and friend, passed away on January 30, 2023 in Nashville after a short illness.

Born March 13, 1957 in Nashville, he enjoyed a Leave It To Beaver-esque childhood in north Nashville and graduated Maplewood High School in 1975.

He was a very successful car parts salesman at several Ford dealerships, Fenders & More, & Keystone, concluding his career as national sales manager at Grooms Engines. He also worked security at concerts & football games, loving to slyly hob-nob with the stars. His confidence and wit ensured he never met a stranger and had more friends than he knew.

Don was a long-suffering Vanderbilt football fan, enjoyed NASCAR and Titans games, and always carried a fishing rod in his truck in case he had a few minutes to cast a line.

Family was his top priority. He married the love of his life Teri in 1995 and proudly raised his family in the same home where he grew up. He recently became “Pops” to two grandchildren, who he adored. We will miss him forever.

Survivors include his wife, Teri; children Jason (Alana), Katy (Matthew Thomas), and Jessica; and two grandchildren, Cecelia and Cason.

He is preceded in death by his parents, JT and Helen Cox; and sister, Marilyn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s memory to Alive Hospice https://www.alivehospice.org or the Tennessee Wildlife Federation https://tnwf.org

Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Road, Nashville. https://www.phillipsrobinson.com
