Dennis L. Batts, age 59, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his residence in Nashville, TN. He was born March 26, 1966, in Nashville, to C. R. “Dick” and Judy Minton Batts. He was a 1984 graduate of John Overton High School.
He married Kimberly Myers on April 18th, 1986, in Nashville. He worked his entire life in construction “excavation” with CR Batts Construction and later Batts Construction, leaving his footprint all throughout Middle Tennessee.
Dennis truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, snacking, and spending time with his grandchildren and his fur babies (Bella, Nash, Gracie, Piper and Asher).
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; sons, William “Michael”, Richard “Blake” Batts and Michael (Sara) Cunningham; parents, Dick and Judy Batts; sister, Tammy (Eddie) Bowers; brother, Tommy Batts; grandchildren, Camryn Faye, Brayden Michael Batts, Clara Ann and Carter Ray Cunningham; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis is preceded in death by his eldest brother, Danny Ray Batts.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Dennis touched are invited to the Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Rd. Nashville, TN 37211, from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and of course, just chat.
