David “Paul” Robertson Sr., age 97 of Goodlettsville, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at his residence.

Paul was born in Nashville, TN to the late Eugene Fish and Sinie Inez Smith Robertson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lee Trevathan Robertson and his siblings and their spouses.

He is survived by children, “David” Paul (Angie) Robertson, Jr. of Goodlettsville, Trevis Lee (Dolores) Robertson of Greenbrier, Bonnie Beth Jenkins of Gallatin; grandchildren, Eric Robertson, Ashley Robertson, Troy Robertson, Shannon (Danny) Myers, Christopher Jenkins, Rachael Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Toby Robertson, Tate Robertson, Reef Myers, Coen Myers, Haven Myers, Bair Myers, Kyyng Myers and one great-great-grandchild, Jameson Robertson.

He was a graduate of Central High School and was a Veteran of the US Marines having served during the WWII era. He attended Cumberland University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree and continued to study at the University of Texas at Austin. He was a Math teacher at Hume Fogg and was a tutor to many as well. He also had a PBS Math show in the 1960’s. He worked for the State of TN where he was Director of Curriculum and Instruction for area vocational schools. Paul later became a Rural Mail Carrier in Robertson County and later started gardening which he loved. He enjoyed the idea of growing food for his family and even became a bee keeper. Paul dearly loved his family and it made him happy to take care of them.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. James Jett and family members officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until time of service. Burial will take place in Springhill Cemetery in Goodlettsville with great-grandsons serving as Pallbearers and grandchildren serving as honorary pallbearers.
