David Lee Gunderson, age 84, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
David was born October 11, 1938 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was a son of the late Benhardt Oliver Gunderson and Ruth Mae Hill Gunderson.
He was a graduate of Belmont University and had retired from Baptist Hospital where he had worked as a medical technologist. David was a faithful church member, husband, father and grandfather. A wonderful friend and neighbor, always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed staying busy, often practicing his talent of woodworking. David loved to travel and spend time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Gunderson.
David is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Marilyn Campbell Gunderson; his children, Eric Gunderson (Stephanie), Kelley Hassencahl (John), and Jill Mayberry (Kevin); grandchildren, Coley Gunderson (Jenn), Caleb Gunderson (Kaitlen), Lacey Hassencahl, Katelyn Hassencahl-Williams (Bret), and William Hassencahl; one great-grandchild, Anne Hassencahl-Williams. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on August 20, 2023 at the Madison Campus Seventh Day Adventist Church, 607 Larkin Springs Rd, Madison, TN 37115. The family will receive visitors from 12:30 until the time of the service. http://taylorsince1909.com
