Dana “Bud” Rowland, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 24th, 2025, at the age of 74 surrounded by his family.
Dana is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Mae Rob Rowland. He was a devoted husband to Patricia Rowland, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a loving family that includes their children: Tonya (Jim) Reed, Scott (Tisha) Rowland, and Amy (David Maggied) Donato. Dana cherished his nine grandchildren: Tyler Reed, Jessica (Tanner) Davidson, Taylor (Delana) Reed, Cody (Molly) Marks, Tanner Rowland, Dylan Marks, Hailey Donato, Emily Rowland, and Brayden Maggied. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, who brought him much joy. Dana is also survived by his 2 sisters Sandy (Ray) Nichols and Tammy (Tom) Akers as well as many nieces and nephews whom he adored and could always bring a smile to their faces.
A proud graduate of Glencliff High School, Class of 1968, Dana went on to faithfully serve in the Tennessee Air National Guard from 1968-1974. He built his career with Roadway Express dedicating over 30 years of service as garage manager before retiring. A passionate sports fan, Dana found great pleasure in cheering on his favorite teams and spending time watching games with friends and family.
Known for his quick wit and love of laughter, Dana was the biggest jokester in any room. His sense of humor and kind heart left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Above all, Dana cherished his role as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. His legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will live on in their hearts forever. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
In honor of Dana’s life, a celebration of his legacy will be held at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love and support during this time.
