In Loving Memory of Chris

There are some people whose love quietly shapes the lives of everyone around them. Chris was one of those people.

Chris was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Hanna, and a deeply loving father to their four children. For more than 20 years, he was the steady foundation of his family—a faithful husband, a caring father, and a man whose greatest joy was the people God had entrusted to him.

Hanna met Chris when she was just 19 years old during his mission trip to Ethiopia. From that moment on, God began writing a beautiful love story that would span more than two decades. Together they built a life filled with faith, laughter, perseverance, and unconditional love. Through every blessing and every hardship, they stood side by side, always choosing each other.

Above all else, Chris loved Jesus Christ. His faith was not simply something he believed—it was the way he lived. He faithfully sought to lead his family according to God’s Word, serving them with humility, grace, and sacrificial love. He taught his children not only by his words, but by the example of his life.

Chris worked tirelessly to provide for his family, but no job or responsibility ever came before them. He was the father cheering from the sidelines, the husband who willingly shared the work of everyday life, and the man who found joy in serving the people he loved. Whether he was cooking dinner, helping around the house, taking the kids to school, or attending every game and activity he could, Chris showed his love through countless acts of service. His family never had to wonder if they were loved—they knew it every single day.

Over the past year, Chris faced an aggressive battle with cancer. Even in the midst of pain, uncertainty, and unimaginable challenges, he met each day with remarkable courage, unwavering faith, and quiet strength. He endured more than most people could imagine, yet he never stopped loving, encouraging, and thinking of his family. His perseverance became a testimony to everyone who witnessed his journey.

On July 2, Chris entered the presence of the Lord he loved so deeply. While his passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of Hanna, their four children, his parents, family, and countless friends, they rejoice in knowing that his faith has become sight. He is healed, whole, and forever at peace in the presence of Jesus.

Chris leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by years alone. His legacy is found in the family he loved so fiercely, the faith he lived so faithfully, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, humility, generosity, and unwavering character.

His laughter, his gentle heart, his steady presence, and his selfless love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Though the sorrow of losing him is profound, the memories he created and the example he set will continue to live on through his children and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Those words capture the life Chris lived—a life marked by faith, love, sacrifice, and devotion. Until the day we meet again, his memory will remain a treasured gift, and his legacy will continue to shine through those who loved him most.
