Christine Elizabeth Sargent passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Nashville after a courageous fight with cancer.

“Beth” was born November 16, 1956 in Nashville to Laurine and Cliff Sargent.

She graduated from Harpeth Hall School in 1975, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Butler University and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University. She was a devoted member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and maintained wonderful relationships with many sorority sisters her entire life. After school, Beth returned to Nashville where she led a varied and exciting life.

Beth held several interesting employment positions, including market analyst, data manager, computer instructor and owner of a concierge service. Beth was well known as an animal lover and was deeply devoted to her numerous Dachshund puppies over the years. Beth was a long-time member and supporter of the Nashville Ballet Company, where she proudly performed her first solo as a teenager in The Nutcracker. She also was active with The Daughters of the American Revolution and the First Presbyterian Church of Nashville.

Beth loved her extended Sargent and Forrester families, and her families enormously loved Beth. She always was the first person contacted when a question arose about how to reach out to a friend, where a cousin now lives, how a colleague was recovering following an illness, or the names of all the kids of someone who lived across town or across the country. Beth had a true and generous servant’s heart, a sensational laugh, two willing and helpful hands, a listening ear, and unmatched perseverance and resilience in the face of her cancer battle.

Beth was a loving light wherever she went, and inspired every single person she knew to be joyful and grateful for life’s gifts. This world was so very lucky to have Beth.

Beth was predeceased by her parents Laurine and Cliff Sargent.

She is survived by her brother Craig Sargent, sister-in-law Lisa, and nephew Christian, and many loving relatives, and of course her sweet dog Frieda.

Beth’s extraordinary life will be celebrated Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, Franklin Road, Nashville. Beth’s family will receive friends at the Church from 9:00 to 10:00 before the service. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn

Beth’s family also sends a special thanks to the splendid healthcare providers who lovingly cared for her, especially Adoration Home Health, Blakeford at Home and Alive Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Beth requested that contributions be made to the Forrester Scholarship at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.
