Christopher Roy Bugg, 44, of Hermitage, TN died Sunday, March 29, 2026 in Ashland City, TN.
Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, April 24 at 11:00 AM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, KY, Chris was born December 12, 1981, the son of David Thomas Bugg of Hopkinsville, KY and Billie Jo Rice Greer of Cadiz, KY. Chris was a graduate of the Air Force Academy and a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served his country in locations that included Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Africa, Germany, and Hawaii. Chris was honorably discharged from the Air Force as a Major in 2016. Chris was the director of IT Operations for Wellpath, where he valued the friendships he built with his coworkers.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his sister, Shanna (Jeff) Heath of Danville, KY; and his nieces and nephew: Abigail Heath, Miriam Heath, and Owen Heath.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Chris’s memory be made to The Hawaiian Humane Society, 2700 Wai alae Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96826 or online at Hawaiianhumane.org. It was there that Chris adopted his beloved dog, Frank. Donations may also be made to the USO.
