Charles Henry Huffman, 86, passed away at his home in Donelson, TN on November 3, 2024, just days shy of his 87th birthday.

Born November 15, 1937, in Montpelier, Indiana, to Thomas and Alice (Martin) Huffman, Charles was one of the most positive, warm, friendly, and giving people anyone could hope to know.

A proud veteran, Charles served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957 and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. His military service remained a source of pride throughout his life. After his honorable discharge, Charles pursued his passion for electronics, studying electronics engineering and repair in Chicago. This education launched a successful career that took him across the country, from California to Texas and finally to Tennessee. He established and ran successful businesses in both California and Tennessee. His exceptional mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills were legendary – there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t fix. In addition to his professional expertise, he maintained a lifelong passion for automobiles and enjoyed working on project cars throughout his life.

Known for his kindness and humility, Charles touched countless lives with his warm presence and quick wit. His natural gift for humor and improvisation made him a joy to be around, always ready with a funny saying or happy to engage in playful conversation that would brighten anyone’s day.

Charles came from a large family and is survived by his siblings Maxine Getz, George (Judy) Huffman, and Shirley (Jay) Walter. He was preceded in death by siblings Donald Huffman, Tom Huffman, Bill Huffman, Jack Huffman, Garnet Brown, Marilyn Owens, and Dora Wright. Charles maintained precious bonds with his family throughout his life. He is also survived by his three children: Kevin (Lynn) Huffman, Yvonne (Brian) Lutz, and Charles Huffman as well as his two beloved grandchildren: Cassie Huffman and Sullivan Lutz.
