Carolyn Ann Vernich, 91, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025.
She was born April 29, 1933 in Queens, NY, the youngest of four daughters. Carol grew up in New Jersey and moved to Gary, IN. She graduated from Lew Wallace High School and worked as a secretary until she met and married Bill Vernich in 1956. They had five children together and lived in Ohio, Wisconsin and Tennessee. Carol was a devoted wife and mother, and was ordained a deaconess in the church she attended in 1982.
“Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mary Whiteman; sisters Betty, Cathy and Mary Lou; half brothers Walter and Tom; step sister Peggy; and Carol’s husband of 67 years, William Vernich.”
She is survived by her children: Patti (Perry) Hoag, Bill (Wilma) Vernich, David (Connie) Vernich, Lyn Benedetto, Mark (Sandy) Vernich. Grandchildren: Paul (Leigh Ann) Vernich, Michael Vernich, Kyle (Mary) Vernich, Ryan (Genevieve) Vernich, Jill (Daniel) Thompson, Brad Vernich, Kelly Benedetto, Christine (Carson) Barnes. Great Grandchildren: Alice Vernich, Cohen Vernich, Walt Vernich, Warren Vernich, Andrew Thompson, Harvey Vernich, Callum Barnes, and Ivy Thompson.
