Carolyn-Adams-Gray

Carolyn Adams Gray was born in Olmstead, KY to Raymond and Elsie Adams on August 22, 1940. She passed away at home in Nashville surrounded by her loving family on April 1, 2022 at the age of 81 after a twenty-year battle with cancer.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Larry; her son, Michael Farrar, and wife, Barbara; son, Jeffrey Farrar and wife, Miriam; daughter, Melissa Groves and her husband, Chuck; daughter, Debbie Gray, and husband, Steven; and her sister, Margaret Celsor. Carolyn is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, Cody, Megan, Nicholas, Harley, Shelby, James, Jacob, Andy, Caroline, Emma, Connor, Holly, Brittany, and Lizzie, and her three great-grandchildren, Aubree, Adaleiah, and Olivia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elsie; sisters, Dorothy and Eleanor; children, Terry, Suzie, and Julie; and granddaughter, Crystal.

Carolyn graduated as Valedictorian from Olmstead High School in 1958 and then attended Draughon’s College in Nashville for secretarial school before starting her first of several jobs that spanned many aspects of the real estate business, to include administrative positions at a mortgage company, four Realtors, and a real estate appraisal firm.

However, the biggest part of her adult life was focused on family, friends, and her church communities at Tusculum Hills Baptist and Triune Baptist Church. During retirement, she enjoyed spending time with Larry traveling through east Tennessee and North Carolina to enjoy the views and finding the best jams and honey, along with a few memorable trips to Hawaii, Europe, and Israel.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her true love Larry, her children and grandkids, her sisters and extended family in Kentucky, and her many dear friends, all of whom will miss her kind heart and quick wit.

For those wishing to make a gesture of love and respect, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in honor of Carolyn Gray to either the Sarah Cannon Fund (https://sarahcannon.com/about/sarah-cannon-fund.dot) or to The Gideons International (https://gideons.org/donate#).
