“Carole Ross Oakley was known by most as “Nonnie”. Family was her favorite part of life. She loved her God first, then her husband, and then she poured what was left into her girls, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She was an absolute pillar in her family. Her grandkids describe her as faithful, wise, selfless, kind, feisty, devoted, honest, thoughtful, loving, creative, and unconditional. She enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife, and she took great pride in creating and perfecting her outdoor oasis. She was a woman of immense faith and wisdom, but her greatest attribution was teaching her family how to love.”
She was the office manager for CMI Equipment.
She is survived by husband, Bobby Lee Oakley; daughters, Shannon (Dave) Tolbert, Ashlee (Richard) Hatfield; sisters, Betty (John) Oakley, Debbie (Bill) Wamsley, Margie (Gary) Hulsey; grandchildren, Heather Oakley, Courtney (Randall) Wallace, Cassie (Michael) Wathen, Victoria Parker, Michael Parker, Matthew Parker, Megan Hodges, Will Hodges, Hayley (Matt) Earhart, Zach (Sue) Tolbert, Cody Tolbert; great-grandchildren, Levi Wallace, Oakley Wallace, April Wallace, Bennett Wathen, Hazel Tolbert and a host of nephews and nieces.
