Brenda Faye Abernathy left her earthly home on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
Born on August 15, 1948, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Gleason and Marie Bush Abernathy; and brother, Charles Edward Abernathy.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Tracey) Abernathy; grandchildren, Robin (Kevin) and Jackson; and her sweet beagle, Lulu.
Brenda was employed by American General lnsurance Company in customer service for 52 years until her retirement in 2022, Brenda loved BIG! She loved the Lord, her family, her friends, UT football, chocolate, Hallmark, Snoopy, animals (especially dogs), Christmas, shopping, and children. She was an honorary grandmother to many.
She attended and was a member of Woodbine Baptist Church, where she spent many years serving in VBS and the nursery.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Todd Wermers on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, Nashville. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, August 30, 2024, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jackson Gordon, Kevin Reardon, Ryan Stearns, Richard Marr, Todd Wilburn and Johnny Mabry.
