On Tuesday, October 1st, a precious soul made her transition… Bev Engstrom passed away peacefully in her sleep that evening. After nearly 5 years of battling colon cancer, her body just wore out. Bev was born in England 60 years ago but moved to Washington State in her early 20’s and called the US her home for the rest of her life. She lived in various places in Washington, California, Texas and finally in Tennessee.
Bev will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, her love for her fur-babies (her dogs were everything to her), her devotion to her family and friends, and for her generosity in every part of her life. She was a fierce defender of those she loved, and she could turn just about anyone into a friend. Yes, she could be stubborn and even contentious at times, but it was because she never did anything halfway – just ok was not enough.
Bev asked that there not be a funeral or formal memorial service, so in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to The Asher House in Oregon, an animal rescue non-profit. Bev simply asked that her friends in Tennessee gather at her home and have a party in her memory. Bev is survived by her parents, Sue and Brian Morfett, her brother Jason, and niece Ellee, as well as her three dogs, Hank, Jack and Daisy, and many dear friends on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. She will be sorely missed.
