Betty Sue Gooch, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed from her earthly life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
She was born in Minor Hill, TN on August 17, 1935.
She was a long-time resident of Nashville, TN, where she was a devoted member of Gladstone Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Clarence “Sonny” Gooch, her parents, Atha Ann White Lawrence and Rufus Lawrence; sisters, Lounette Wilburn and Gladys Burgess; brother, Roger Dale Lawrence; son-in-law, Carroll Cordell and grandson, Kevin Cordell.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Gooch Cordell and Melinda Gooch Maxwell; son-in-law, Jerry Maxwell; grandchildren, Bernie (Erica) Cordell, Tracey (Todd) Kennedy, Tyler (Ashley) Cordell, Kyle (Seneca) Cordell, and Amy Helton Cordell; great-grandchildren, Landon, Connor, and Brooke Cordell, Oliver, Laney, and Ivy Cordell, Eban and Emilyn Kennedy, Tristan Moores, Hendrix and Hudson Cordell, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, Nashville, TN, on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Monday, January 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by the service at 12:00 noon. Pallbearers will be Bernie Cordell, Tyler Cordell, Kyle Cordell, Eban Kennedy, Landon Cordell and Michael Lawrence.
