Bertha Mae Underwood Young, age 103, of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Bertha was born in Kodak, TN and was the daughter of the late, Charlie Covington Underwood and Ida Belle Bailey Underwood.
She was a member of Lebanon Road Church of Christ and a faithful member. It gave her great joy to help others. Bertha was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed gardening, working at the florist, and was an excellent seamstress. She was a partner in a funeral home in KY. Bertha was devoted to her immediate family and her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland W. Young; son, Rolland W. Young, Jr.; great-grandson, Carston Rhett Hill and 8 siblings.
She is survived by:

Daughter-in-law – Sharon Young
Grandchildren – Kevin Young, Kristi Young (Matthew) Brewer, Jason Hill and David (Lindsey) Hill
Great-grandchildren – Kyle Brewer, Samantha Brewer, Finley Mae Hill and Winston Hill
Many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Russ King officiating. Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. EST Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Beech Springs Cemetery, 428 Beech Springs Rd, in Kodak, TN 37764.
