It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Barbara Myers Jenkins of Nolensville / Nashville TN on October 23, 2024, at age 85.
She was married to Thomas Roger Jenkins for 63 years. She worked for the State of Tennessee where she retired from Ellington Agricultural Center in the wildlife department. Barbara and her husband shared a love and passion for the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry. They had many horses throughout the years, but Prides Noon Parder was something special and they knew that from the beginning. He went on to pick up many blue ribbons, as well as in the breeding barn where he had many top-notch colts. He was their life as they didn’t have children of their own.
Barbara loved to be outside working in her yard and planting flowers in the summertime. She loved her family and friends and was a wonderful caretaker to many of her family members throughout the years.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas Roger Jenkins; nieces, Tonya Wells, Ashley (Eric) Roberts and Kristi Turner; nephew, David (Alison) Turner; and great nieces and nephews, Jonathan Yates, Alissa and Gracie Roberts, Ethan Esaka, Jaxon Hampton, Claudia and Claire Turner. She is preceded in death by her father, Lucian Myers; mother, Ethel (Ernest) McCoy; brother, Lucian Myers; and sister, Patricia (David) Turner and many more in heaven. She will be missed more than words could ever say.
Funeral services will be conducted by Wendell Byrd on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. (visitation 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road.
