Barbara “Baby” Jean Reed Buchanan was born in Nashville, TN, to the union of William and Juanita Reed. She entered into rest on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Tristar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee.
Barbara accepted Christ at an early age at Hart Street Church of Christ. She received her formal education in Nashville Metro Public School Systems, graduating from McGavock High School, class of 1980.
Barbara Reed was united in Holy Matrimony to James Buchanan Jr. on October 13, 1984, and they have enjoyed 38 years of marriage.
Barbara was employed with Group Childcare Home as a Director for over 30 years. She loved going to church and worshipping the Lord, spending time with her grandkids and family, watching her game shows and always being fabulous.
Barbara was preceded by her parents, William and Juanita Reed, son, James “Big Daddy” Buchanan III., and sister, Vicki Reed.
She leaves to cherish her memories loving husband, James Buchanan Jr., children, William (Kelly) Buchanan Sr., Santana Buchanan, Jessica Buchanan, Jeremy Buchanan Sr., Jamesha “Meme” Buchanan, / Grandchild – William “Obi” Buchanan Jr., Sate’o “Teo” Buchanan, Saniya “Niya Bug” Buchanan, James “Chunky” Buchanan IV, Khalil “Lil lil” Thompson, Jeremy “J.J.” Buchanan Jr., siblings, Deborah Rodgers, Wanda (Willie) Harris, Linda (Uzell) Hooper, Brenda Reed, Kenneth (Chantesa) Reed, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and devoted friends.
