Barbara Ann Starling, age 79, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2023, in the presence of close family at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
She enjoyed traveling, going to Titans football games, exercising at the YMCA, spending time with her husband and friends. She had 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She owned multiple businesses throughout her career, including a travel agency and up until most recently a Once Upon A Child franchise with her husband, Mike.
Preceded in death by her parents, William A. Bates, Jr. and Helen M. Bates, and her brother, William A. Bates, III.
Survived by her loving husband, Michael E. Starling; sons, Jeffrey (Lisa) Loos and Michael (Shelly) Loos; grandchildren, Cameron (Charity) Loos, Brandon Loos, Ryan (Megan) Loos, Alexandra Loos, Anna Claire Loos, Brady Loos, Coralie Loos, Emmeline Loos, Genevieve Loos, and Mason Loos; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Susan J. (Anthony) Fox; and brother, Robert M. Bates.
