Ann Pendleton Trice, affectionately known to everyone as “Nanny,” passed away peacefully at her home on June 15, 2026, surrounded by the family she dearly loved. She was 87 years old.
Born on August 4, 1938, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Ann was the daughter of the late Mary and Dave Whitaker.
Nanny was truly the heart and home base of her family. She possessed a vibrant spirit and a deep love the of the lord and life’s simple pleasures. Whether she was behind the wheel headed on an adventure, traveling to new places, planting flowers, or preparing a delicious meal in the kitchen, she did everything with love and enthusiasm.
She will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, quick wit, genuine kindness, and unwavering love for others. Nanny lived to make people happy, and her bright smile could light up any room she entered. Her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit touched countless lives and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Ann leaves behind her loving sister, Jean Nofsinger; her devoted children, Melodie Salyer and Joe Martin; her cherished grandchildren, Jeramie Brown, (Sarah) Chris Martin, and Philip Martin; and her adored great-grandchildren, Gracie, Ollie, Emerie Brown, and Blayden Martin. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed by her love, kindness, and unwavering presence in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Dave Whitaker; her sister, Sue Binkley; her son, Tim Martin; and her grandson, Clint Martin.
Nanny will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Though her presence will be greatly missed, her laughter, love, and the countless lessons she shared will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
