Maggie’s Place, a neighborhood bar and restaurant located at 905 51st Ave N, will open in The Nations on Saturday, Nov. 22. In addition to the establishment’s lunch, dinner, and late-night food and beverages, patrons will be able to enjoy its full-service bar and kitchen, indoor seating, and a sprawling outdoor area.
One of the property’s most prominent aspects is the outdoor space, which features 4,500 square feet of astroturf, fire pits, lounge furniture, yard games, a walk-up tiki bar, and a 10×7-foot large screen TV for sports and other event broadcasts. For those with furry friends, leashed dogs will be welcome.
Inside the restaurant and bar, Maggie’s Place houses a full-service bar and dining room with a semi-private space for large group reservations.
Maggie’s Place is a locally owned and operated establishment with a partnership team comprised of Nashville hospitality pros, including Ian Byars of Sonny’s Patio Pub & Refuge, Steve Perdue and Jacob Forth, partners in neighboring bar Perfectly Fine, personal chef and hospitality investor Edward Lipnickas, and Rob Buck of Savager, LLC—who also managed the buildout for Maggie’s Place.
“We have many hopes for Maggie’s, but at the core of our plans is to provide an amenity and a space that encourages community and connection for those who live, work, and play in The Nations,” said Byars. “From the indoor dining space to the outdoor bar and yard games, Maggie’s Place is here for the neighborhood—and yes, that includes locals of all ages.”
Though the establishment will begin to transition to an adults-only atmosphere after 7 p.m. on weekends—when staff members start checking IDs—families dining with underage guests close to that time are welcome and encouraged to enjoy the remainder of their visits.
Developed by Byars and chef Javier Bonacic of Subculture Urban Cuisine & Cafe, the menu at Maggie’s Place will focus on handheld options, including signature quesadilla pockets, tacos, and mesquite wings, all featuring house made salsas and sauces. An array of light bites—such as bacon-wrapped jalapeños and elote dip—and burrito and taco salad options are also available.
Forth oversees Maggie’s Place’s beverage program. Guests can expect a variety of playful and balanced island-themed cocktails with unexpected twists, each of which will be available in N/A versions. The beer offerings emphasize pitchers and buckets, ideal for large group gatherings.
“Tennessee may be landlocked, but the atmosphere and meticulously curated programs at Maggie’s Place will make it the perfect place to sit back, relax, and live on ‘island time,’” said Forth. “When we began fleshing out the concept, we knew we wanted the guest experience to be laidback and approachable, but still thoughtful and curated. Significant care went into ensuring that every offering reflected these traits, so we’re excited to share this project with the community.”
Maggie’s Place will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
