(May 29, 2022) The Nashville man killed Sunday at 1:15 a.m. in a single-vehicle crash on Ewing Drive near Hillhurst Drive is identified as Eric Knight, 43.
The preliminary investigation shows that Knight was traveling east on Ewing Drive in his 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe when, for reasons unknown, he left the roadway striking bridge supports underneath I-65. The SUV rolled several times. Knight, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine whether impairment played a role in this fatal crash.
