November 9, 2023 – The pedestrian struck and killed in a hit and run crash on Wednesday at 6:20 p.m. in the 2700 block of Dickerson Pike is identified as Jeffrey Tidwell, 45, of Nashville.

This fatal crash occurred outside of a crosswalk.

The preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle was traveling north on Dickerson Pike when Tidwell was struck while crossing the roadway. He was thrown into the southbound lanes. The vehicle fled the scene. Tidwell was struck a second time by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. That driver returned to the scene.

While investigators were processing the scene, information was received that the hit and run driver’s vehicle was possibly parked on Oak Valley Drive. Patrol officers responded and located a Nissan Altima with damage consistent to striking a pedestrian.

The driver of the Nissan Altima, Jiselle Boswell, 19, surrendered herself Thursday. After providing a statement to investigators, she was taken into custody. Boswell is charged with driving on a revoked license and for a financial responsibility violation (no insurance) involving injury or death. Additional charges related to the crash are possible. Upon completion, the crash investigation will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
