Nashville Man Convicted of Multiple Armed Robbery and Firearm Crimes

September 22, 2023 – A federal jury convicted Terrell Stevenson, 34, of Nashville of multiple armed robbery and firearms offenses Thursday, announced United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, Henry C. Leventis.

Within 40 minutes on Halloween night 2018, Stevenson robbed a Dollar General Store and a Mapco gas station in Nashville, brandishing a semi-automatic pistol and pointing it at the head of the clerk working at the Dollar General Store.

Stevenson and his accomplice were arrested by police officers after fleeing from a traffic stop. Stevenson was charged by a federal grand jury in January of 2020 with two counts of Hobbs Act Robbery, two counts of brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Stevenson faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 14 years, and up to life, in federal prison. He will be sentenced by United States District Judge Aleta A. Trauger on January 29, 2024.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Rachel Stephens and Kathryn Risinger are prosecuting the case.
