A cyber tip from an Internet cloud storage provider led the arrest of Nashvillian Derrick A. Himes, 26, on August 10 for possessing child pornography in his Dropbox account.
Based on information contained in the tip, a search warrant for the contents of the Dropbox account was issued.
Detectives from the MNPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit located 41 videos of minors engaged in sex acts. The investigation showed that the files were uploaded in 2016 and there were no attempts to delete them.
A judicial commissioner set bond for Himes at $10,000.
