November 8, 2022 – Domestic Violence detectives have charged Kerry Baker, 44, with attempted murder for this morning’s critical shooting of his 38-year-old girlfriend inside the apartment they shared in the 2000 block of Ed Temple Boulevard.

The investigation, led by Detective Teresah Pinho, shows that Baker and the victim argued on and off last night prior to several gunshots being heard by witnesses at 5:40 a.m. North Precinct officers responded quickly and detained Baker at the scene. The victim was shot multiple times in the midsection. She is expected to survive.

Baker is also charged with unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon. Baker has felony cocaine convictions in his history. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1.6 million.
