Nashville Fire Department to Host 20th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony

Mayor John Cooper, Nashville Fire Department Director Chief William Swann, NFD Command Staff, IAFF Local 140 Firefighter’s Union President Mark Young, and other leaders will gather to honor first responders killed on 9/11/01.

This year’s memorial event will begin with a Memorial Procession at 8:00 am on Saturday, September 11th.

The procession will begin at 2nd Avenue and Commerce near the Christmas Day Tragedy Site.

The group will then proceed west on Commerce and turn South onto 3rd Avenue North. The procession will continue down 3rd Avenue North ending at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

The Nashville Firefighters’ Honor Guard & Pipes & Drums, Metro Nashville Police Department Drill, and Ceremony Team, NFD Recruit Class, and MNPD Recruit Class will be among those participating in the Memorial Procession.

The official ceremony will take place on the front steps of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, 1 Symphony Pl, Nashville, TN 37201 to accommodate a large stage for this important milestone for our country.
