The Boring Company says planning continues to move forward on the Music City Loop, with more than 40 stations now in various stages of planning and design across Nashville.

In its sixth official blog post released Aug. 2, the company said it is continuing to work with property owners to develop stations along the planned route. Among the locations already announced are Nashville International Airport, the Music City Convention Center, the JW Marriott, and the first residential station serving the Prime, Alcove, and Paramount towers in downtown Nashville. The company also said it is continuing to seek additional partnerships with property owners interested in hosting future stations.
The update also highlighted several updates reached in recent months, including final approval of a tunnel permit and lease agreement from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The agreement authorizes approximately 25 miles of tunnel within TDOT right-of-way and allows tunneling operations to continue within the approved corridor.
Construction is also moving along. The company’s second tunnel boring machine, Prufrock-MB2, is now operating after launching earlier this summer, while a third machine, Prufrock-MB3, is expected to arrive in September. According to The Boring Company, both active machines are currently tunneling, and the third is expected to improve production as work expands.
The company said it has hosted more than 50 site tours for residents, business owners, students, elected officials, and community organizations. Those tours have included visits from Gov. Bill Lee and U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
The Boring Company also reported it has engaged with more than 250 community, educational, nonprofit, and professional organizations and participated in more than 150 volunteer events across Middle Tennessee. It continues recruiting local employees and partnering with Nashville-area universities as the project grows.
