Metro Nashville Police have increased patrols and surveillance near Club La Danse on Rosa L. Parks Boulevard as detectives continue investigating gunfire that wounded three people outside the downtown nightclub last Sunday.

Specialized Investigations Division detectives are pursuing what officials described as strong and active leads in the shooting, which happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday outside the business.

According to investigators, the violence began with a fight between women inside the club. Security intervened and escorted those involved out of the building. A separate altercation involving a group of men then broke out inside the club, and those individuals were also forced to leave.

Once outside, several men continued fighting. Police said at least one man, described as a Black male wearing an orange hat, orange shoes, an orange bandana and light-colored jeans, pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots before people fled the scene.

Officers found a 28-year-old man critically wounded on the sidewalk. A 27-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the elbow, and a 24-year-old woman was struck in the back. The latter two injuries were described as non-critical.

The increased security measures include enhanced patrols along the Rosa L. Parks Boulevard and Commerce Street corridor, as well as the deployment of a SkyCop trailer camera system.

Violent crime is down 30% in Central over the first four months of this year. We are committed to addressing problems quickly and appropriately to maintain the safety and uniqueness of Nashville.”

The investigation remains active.
